Nice enough e-reader but the inability to access library books is a bummer. Why “buy” a book and not be able to share it. I can loan a hard copy of a purchased book to anybody. This product is way to restrictive. I returned it! Amazon e-books are very expensive. I don’t get it….no printing or distribution cost.

I have read the book once and have listened to it in it’s entirety 4 times. This is my Bible. It has comfort me many times through the loss of parents and being broken heart by who I thought was the love of my life.

Through the Audio version I have always felt as though God was talking directly to ME. But every couple of years, I need to remind myself how much God loves me and is always there for me.

Even now, as I write this review, I feel like God is watching over my shoulder and I feel so much better about this day.

This scale came in the mail a couple of days ago, and I really, really, really *wanted* to like it. It’s inaccurate.

Some background info: I’m dieting and losing weight. In the beginning when I was losing weight at 6 lbs, 4 lbs a week, my old scale worked ok. (Taylor brand, non digital) Now that I’m losing weight at the rate of 1 lb a week I needed a much more accurate scale.

Like everybody else I was led into this scale by the negative reviews but figured I’d take a chance at it. Not a good decision. I should have researched more.

Took it out, calibrated it, weighed myself, weighed myself with a 20 lb weight, weighed myself alone again. I repeated this test multiple times, and the first and second weights are always different, ranging from a difference in .2 to over a pound or more. This is unacceptable. I would give this scale four stars if it was only off by .2 lbs or .4 lbs, but it is off by more than that.

Weighing my 20 lb weight by itself yielded results of 20 lb and 20.2 lb. However, the scale is off by more than .2 lb when I weigh myself.

I am very disappointed and honestly feel like crying. I don’t know whether or not to return this scale, as it was a waste of $$ or try to contact the company and ask for a replacement. I go away to college soon and quite frankly don’t have a lot of time for dealing with this issue. My advice to other buyers: Don’t take a gamble on this, like I did. There are enough poor reviews here to negate all of the fabulous ones. Get a different scale. This one is useless if you are looking for a scale accurate to what this scale claims to be.

I returned this scale to Amazon.com. The company emailed me and left a message on this comment before I had done that, but I got a full refund, preferring to take my business elsewhere. The company sent me a new scale of the same model which I received in the mail today, which I was not expecting seeing as how I got a refund. But who is going to complain about getting some

The Garmin portable friction mount has worked out well in both our family van and sedan. It does not slide and conforms well to the different dash surfaces.

I am absolutely thrilled with my Garmin 305. I was very unhappy with my previous Garmin model 201, so I was apprehensive on purchasing this model. On the advice of a good friend, I went ahead and bought it. I am so very pleased with it!! It is extremely accurate, and it has never dropped a signal. Where I live has lots of tree cover and buildings, and I have not had any issues with satellite acquisition, and I am spoiled already with the quickness of satellite pickup. The watch is comfortable to wear, and easy to setup and use – especially for someone like me who is technology challenged! The heart rate monitor is wonderful and very comfortable to wear – I forget I even have it on. I haven’t figured out how to use the other features yet, but I like that I have the ability to link my Garmin 305 with my online training software. I cannot say enough good things about it. I highly recommend the Garmin 305 to anyone out there who is thinking of purchasing it!!

My oldest son was surprised to hear that J.D. Salinger fought in World War II. He thinks of Holden Caulfield as a contemporary, a peer, anachronistically making his way through a few days of life. The period references in the novel are like props on a movie set, no more real than the phonies Holden encounters. It’s perplexing that so many of my son’s classmates felt no connection to Holden after reading The Catcher in the Rye this past year. We are told on TV, on the internet and in movies that our teenagers and young adults are increasingly savvy, mature and perceptive. When it comes to technology, they certainly are. But most of students in the class considered Holden a whiny freak without realizing that often, it’s the whiny freaks who walk through life with the clarity of sight and earnestness needed to leave this existence a little better than it was when we entered it. The story itself is a masterpiece. Salinger was firing on all cylinders and tapping into the strange other-worldly literary omnipotence we usually attribute to Shakespeare when he wrote Catcher. It’s interesting to wonder whether he was even aware of everything he was doing in the book or if he was like a pro athelete who enters “the zone” and emerges at the end of the game a puzzled hero. Every time one of Holden’s apologists dies, as his creator did this past week, a piece of Holden dies with them. Fortunately, he is as viral as one of my son’s favorite You Tube videos. When we follow his exploits, Holden’s DNA intertwines with our own and is propagated in everything we say and do. Fortunately, he will never completely die, but will continue to confound those who think him merely a whiny freak. RIP Holden Caulfield. Only Shot At A Good Tombstone
