Dog Trolley Medium Weight series
The only complaint I have is that I wasn’t paying close enough attention and wish i would have purchased the newest product instead of this one. Otherwise, I really like it.

This carpet cleaning SteamVac did a pretty good job at cleaning our sunroom carpeting. We heated the water before filling it into the SteamVac to get good cleaning results. We used two passes to wet the carpet and two passes to pick up the water and soiled residue off the carpet. The vacuum did a good job of picking up a good portion of the water from the soiled carpet so the dry time was fairly quick. Overall, the SteamVac did a good job, however, the recovery tank did fill up fairly quickly so a 180 feet square room took about four refills to clean.

Really cheap. Connect one end to computer and other to HD TV and it works. Quality may be bit low and really worth the price.

Water for Elephants is an engrossing story about life in an early 1930’s, depression-era traveling circus, but is also about so much more. Jacob Jankowski is presently ninety or ninety-three (he doesn’t recall) and living out the end of his life in a nursing home. He has family who visit, but they are busy enough with their own lives that he is largely forgotten. A circus comes to town and Jacob thinks back on his own youthful experiences.
I appreciate the story’s realistic portrayal of early 20th century circus life. The animals live and work in conditions that are horrific, but at the same time they are the lifeblood of the show next to the human performers and are therefore treated well enough to that extent. The author, Sara Gruen, mentions in an interview that many of the anecdotes in the tale are plucked from real life accounts. (For example, an elephant stealing lemonade from the lemonade stand when no one is looking.) Truth is stranger than fiction, indeed.

The first failed on second use and was, as always, replaced by Amazon without question
That replacement failed after about 14 months. It was only being used in my netbook as additional storage – and so was not subjected to the wear and tear of removal and insertion. Nor does my netbook have heavy use (being only used on vacation) It went in, and remained there until failure – which only amounted to about 5 weeks of actual use.
During that time period I had bought another of these Transcend 16 GB Class 6 SDHC cards to use in a camera. As I use a card reader to transfer images to the computer this SD card was removed and reinserted several times a month. It failed after about 8 months.
In January of this year I had bought another of these, and it failed last month – 5 months of light use in a different digital SLR.
I have Kingston and SanDisk 16 GB cards, none of which have failed.
Additionally, I have over a dozen Transcend 2-8 GB SDHC cards, none of which have failed either.
I can only conclude that either I have experienced a highly improbable event with this 100% failure rate, or that there is a flaw in the Transcend 16 GB cards.
This latter seems much more likely, and I will avoid Transcend cards of more than 8 GB capacity.
Today I just bought a SanDisk 32 GB SDHC – though more expensive than the Transcend 32 GB, I have the expectation that it is not as likely to fail.
Caveat emptor: Let the buyer beware.

I’ve used this SD card for several weeks now and it’s worked as advertised. The card has been used primarily in an HD video camera recording in 1080p, so it was important for it to have a fast transfer rate. I haven’t had any issues with the card. It’s been very reliable!

Glynn’s tour de force may prove to be the only page-turner in non-fiction; my copy, at least, has many pages turned down. I will go back again and again, not only for the bon mots he delivers on every page, but because his brief, incisive points motivate me to write more often, send more query letters, try one more time. “Get to it”, he seems to say, and “here’s how”. Authors, editors and publishers: his book will save you hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars. And did I mention that it’s funny?
Buy a copy for each aspiring writer on your gift list, and another for your reference shelf. This is a book for the ages. And–Sal? Please write another one soon.

Wow! Dog Soft Flexi Football
Nicely made and not as fearful looking as some have made it out to be. The unit is weighted with lead pellets and will conform to most dash and console configurations. The underside of the base, made of a non-slip rubber material, will hold well…. as long as the mounting surface(dashboard)is wiped clean occasionally with a mild cleaner. Additionally, it wouldn’t hurt to lighty wipe the rubber base underside with some common rubbing alcohol, when it loses some of its gripping properties, due to debris accumulation. That’s it !! No gimmicks or any magic needed !!
The mount stays in place and can be easily adjusted both vertically and horizontally, to afford a good view of the GPS screen.
To keep the thieves at bay, be sure to scoop up the ENTIRE unit (including the cord) when you leave the car. I use a small carry bag to handle the job.
