Mixed reviews held me back from reading this book for quite some time, despite my recent foray into juvenile literature. I have to say I have mixed feelings as well, though not for a lot of the reasons I’ve read (okay, people who say a 12-year-old criminal mastermind is just ‘too farfetched’ of an idea… did you notice the fairies and dwarves and trolls and the centaur? Oh, a 12-year old genius is too much to handle, but all of the fantasy creatures… no problem? Fiction, people… it’s fiction. If I wanted ‘real world’ stuff I’d just leave the house!). Mostly I had a very hard time picturing a lot of the creatures (specifically the dirt-eating unhinged-jawed dwarf) and didn’t have a great handle on the setting/technology/magic being described. But the action was good, and I did like a lot of the characters. So it gets a pretty middle-of-the road review, though I will read more in the series.

I must be missing something. Hundreds of reviewers have commented on the remarkable stability of this thing. When I tried it with either of my two Mercedes it didn’t work at all. The device comes with no instructions except to put it on the dash. OK, I did that. It slips around freely, and the slightest forward motion of the car sent it onto the floor. Not to mention what happens when you brake hard or (God forbid) have to turn a corner. The whole thing goes flying. So far as I can tell this is a piece of junk, and I’m mystified that so many people have made it work satisfactorily. I’m even more mystified that Garmin, who turns out excellent GPS devices, let somebody put the Garmin name on it.

The Help, although a good read, seemed heavy-handed in its morality, thick with forshadowing and stereotype, and neatly buttoned up at the end. It’s interesting enough to finish, but not nearly interesting enough to recommend.

This comb works amazingly well on my Sheltie (Shetland sheep dog).

Within about 10 minutes I had a paper grocery bag filled with fur and my dog’s coat looks very clean. Note. If you dog’s hair is tangled or matted, you will need to comb it first before using the deShedding comb

This watch has been amazing for a beginning distance runner like myself. You can spend hours (which I have) playing with all the different options and settings, but you can also charge it up and go right out of the box. All the data has greatly improved my training and showed me what I need to work on. If you are a data junkie, you will love the Garmin Connect website and disc that comes with the watch. It lets you slice and dice your runs however you want.

This is my first running watch, but I cannot imagine ever going to something else. It is a little bulky, but I wanted something I could transfer to bike and still read. I just ordered the cadence sensor and bike mount, so look for a review there in a few weeks to see if it works just as well for cycling.

I am a 32 year-old woman who is proud to say I own a Twilight jacket, t-shirt, stickers, keychain, magazines, all four books in the series, the Twilight Saga movie companion books, posters, watch, the soundtracks and the original scores. My boyfriend thinks I have lost my mind and doesn’t understand why so many women like me are drawn to Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight world.
All I can tell you is that these books and the movies make me feel complete. Twilight is “my own personal brand of heroin.” The Twilight Saga books are filled with everything a hopeless romantic like me wants, two beautiful characters both aching for each other’s love, passion, action,and a fabulous plot. When I listen to the music and watch the characters falling for each other, I get a feeling in the pit of my stomach- not a sick feeling, but an ache and I wish I could just be 17 again, in the schoolyard, pining over that one guy that makes the world livable and loving him so much, you would do anything to be with him, to just feel his breath on your earlobe or his sweet melodic voice in your ear.
But what are you to do when you learn that he isn’t who you think he is. Then you love him even more. I guess when you get older, you lose or should I say miss that young love feeling that makes the goose bumps on the back of you neck stand up and the friction your heart feels when you have that first kiss- soft and sweet and for Twilight lovers, the forbidden fruit. “And so the Lion fell in love with the Lamb…”
I am happy though to tell you that my addiction is shared by so many other women, some older, some younger who feel that same attraction, an indescribable satisfaction that we get when we read the Twilight Saga books and sit in dark theaters watching the movies. OK I heard good things about this product, but when I got it, it was a different story. First the directions were in IKEA form, only pictures. You actually had to log onto Tom tom’s site and look the installation directions up. The next problem I ran into was installing it onto my Palm Treo 700p. I purchased the DVD version which saves to your phones memory card. The only problem with that is that tom tom doesn’t detect the memory card in the phone so you have to use an external card reader. I had to go and now purchase that also.
Once I finally got everything installed onto my card, I reached the point where I had to install the maps I wanted onto my device from the DVD. The DVD only had maps of Western Europe, not of the US and Canada. I found this weird, so I checked both boxes and they all said Tom Tom Navigator 6 Software with Maps of the US and Canada (DVD) and Blue tooth GPS Receiver. My DVD which was located in this box in shrink wrap was labeled Maps of Western Europe. This was obviously the mix-up of tom tom’s packaging department. I called tom tom and explained the story, even though they packaged the unit, they somehow blamed it on Amazon and said I had to deal with them. I asked Tom tom if they could just send me the maps I needed and they said I would have to pay for them, which would be about $125. If your not familiar with Tom tom, you can purchase new maps from there web site and they are uploaded to your personal tom tom home web site they don’t even need to send you a new DVD. Tom tom wouldn’t even do this so I returned it to Amazon and currently looking for a better navigation system with better customer service. Something I thought about too, I have the Palm Treo, what happens if I upgrade my phone next year and this navigation device isn’t compatible? I would have to re buy another system. Because of this I would suggest buying a stand alone navigation system, just not from Tom Tom.

I researched vaccuums for about 2 hours before deciding on this one. I wanted a bagged vaccuum b/c it seemed that the bagless created more mess when you empty them and a lot of them have expensive HEPA filters to replace. I wanted to spend less than $100 also. I decided to play the odds and get this vaccuum. So far I have only used it once, but it works amazing. It sucks stuff up powerfully on my laminate floors and on my high-pile area rugs. You can even change the level of the vaccuum based on the floor type. When you select high pile, it’s easy to vaccuum flimsy area rugs. I am very VERY happy with my purchase and just hope that it keeps up for the next few years. I definitely recommend this vaccuum. It is lightweight, easy to put together, and overall really easy to use.
